Yamaha riders have posted impressive results at the annual Tatts Finke desert race including three class wins.
ATV ace Ryan Lancaster piloted his YFZ450R to a dominant first place in the pro ATV class. The 25-yearold professional ATV motocross rider, from Bullsbrook, WA said winning Finke was even better than all of the Australian titles he has to his name.
“The fact it was the first enduro event I’ve done made this win even sweeter,” added the YFZ450R rider who took early charge of the 452- kilometer and crossed the finish line 49 minutes ahead of his closest rival.
Lancaster wasn’t the only Yamaha racer to podium in the class: Mitchell Van Vliet, from Narre Warren North, VIC, finished third aboard his YFZ450R.
Other class winners include Alice Springs local Billy Barry who was the first two-stroke home on a YZ250. The first 250cc four-stroke was Williamstown, SA rider Jesse Paech on a YZ250F.
Team Active8 rider Jarrod Bewley finished an incredible fifth outright on his YZ450F despite riding the entire two days with a grade three separated shoulder.
