The NSW Caravan and Camping industry is set to reap the benefits of nine days of exposure as NSW’s largest caravan, camping and leisure event wraps up today, said Theo Whitmont, President of the Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW.
76, 741 people attended the Supershow from 21 to 29 April at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse to see all the latest and greatest that the caravan and camping industry has to offer.
400 exhibitors displayed thousands of products and services with everything from two person tents and camping accessories to camper trailers, caravans and luxury motorhomes.
“We have noticed that consumers have become more cautious when it comes to purchasing products; however, we were pleasantly surprised that this wasn’t reflected in our sales at the Supershow,” said Chris Mercieca, Oztent.
“We have had a great year at the Supershow and are already starting to plan for next year”, said Phillip Banks, Jayco Nowra.
“Steady exhibitor sales are evidence of a resilient industry that has the ability to adapt to consumer demands and changing trends. The caravan and camping industry has remained the fastest growing tourism sector in Australia for the past 15 years because it has something for every lifestyle at any budget,” Mr Whitmont said.
NSW will be hosting another two caravan and camping expo’s this year at the Penrith Panthers Exhibition Centre (7-9 September) and Mackay Park in Batemans Bay (2-4 November).
The winners of the Supershow Passport competition were announced today at 3pm at the show. Sam from Sydney’s South West was the lucky winner of a brand new NOVA Caravan provided by Sydney RV Centre valued at $45, 990.
“The breadth of products, entertainment, dining options and facilities available at the Supershow contribute strongly to the continued success of the event and are influencing factors behind its recent success at The Australian Tourism Awards, winning Australia’s Best Festival and Event,” said Mr Whitmont.
The Supershow will be on again from 20 to 28 April 2013 at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse. For more information on this year’s show or upcoming caravan and camping expos please visit www.caravan-camping.com.au.
