Mazda’s BT-50 4×2 Hi-Rider and 4×4 utes are now even tougher, with their braked towing capacity increasing from 3,350kg to 3,500kg.
The 150kg capacity increase positions BT-50 as a towing class-leader. BT-50’s produced from January boast the increased towing performance.
As a result, Gross Combined Mass (GCM) rises to 6,000kg, representing an increase of 50kg, and maximum towball download rises by 15kg to 350kg.
Improvements in towing capacity and GCM were achieved through chassis-strengthening measures and when combined with BT-50’s impressive 470Nm of torque, ensure that BT-50 owners are prepared for more possibilities than ever before.
With over 14,000 All-New BT-50s sold since its introduction in late 2011 and more than 64,000 since BT-50’s initial introduction in 2006 into the Australian market, it has fast become a favourite due to its practicality and performance.
A range of 19 different variants including a choice of two different engines and three body styles also ensures that buyers can find a BT-50 fit for any task.
Mazda Australia’s national marketing manager, Alastair Doak, said: “Towing performance is high on the agenda for any utility buyer and with BT-50 now being an equal class-leader in the field it will no doubt satisfy the demands of our customers.”
This upgrade will comes at no extra cost, with pricing remaining unchanged across the BT-50 range.
