2025 Ram 1500 price and specs: Hurricane turbo six-cylinder power arrives Down Under. The Ram 1500 – Australia’s top-selling US pick-up for the past seven years in a row – has been given a power boost with the arrival of twin-turbo in-line six-cylinder power in the form of the new-generation ‘Hurricane’ engine series.
- Hurricane hits Australia with twin-turbo six-cylinder power for MY25 Ram 1500
- Two models – Laramie Sport and Limited – due in showrooms next month
- Both variants are faster and more powerful than previous Ram 1500 Hemi V8
- Biggest infotainment screen in the class, plus one for the front passenger
- Massaging seats on flagship Limited, new power tailgate on both models
- Panoramic sunroof, 19-speaker audio, retractable side steps standard on both models
Ram 1500 mid-life facelift
The MY25 Ram 1500 brings the mid-life facelift to Australia with new front facias and grilles, a new class-leading 14.4-inch infotainment screen – plus a personal interactive 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen for the front seat passenger, which is covered with privacy film so the display cannot be viewed by the driver.
Both models come with a power-operated tailgate which can be opened or closed at the press of a button on the key fob, or closed with a gentle prompt by hand.
The already comprehensive list of standard safety equipment – including the choice of adaptive or fixed cruise control at the press of a button on the steering wheel – has been supplemented with intersection collision avoidance, drowsy driver detection, and evasive steering assistance.
Taking luxury to a new level, the flagship Limited comes with massaging seats for the first time (for the driver and front passenger) with five settings and three speeds to make long journeys even more comfortable.
Model Range
There are initially two models in the MY25 Ram 1500 line-up – the Laramie Sport and the luxury flagship Limited – and they will be sold alongside the MY24 Hemi V8-powered Ram 1500 Big Horn, Laramie and Limited models while stock lasts.
The MY25 Ram 1500 Laramie Sport is powered by the Standard Output (SO) version of the new-generation twin-turbo in-line 3.0-litre six-cylinder Hurricane engine.
With outputs of 313kW and 635Nm, the SO Hurricane has 7.6 per cent more power and 14.2 per cent more torque than the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 (291kW and 556Nm).
The MY25 Ram 1500 Limited is powered by the High Output (HO) version of the new-generation twin-turbo in-line 3.0-litre six-cylinder Hurricane engine.
With outputs of 403kW and 707Nm the HO Hurricane has 38.5 per cent more power and 27.2 per cent more torque than the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 (291kW and 556Nm).
“We know a lot of people love the sound of the Hemi V8, but we think the Hurricane engines will become iconic in their own right,” said Jeff Barber, the General Manager of Ram Trucks Australia.
“With more power and more torque than the 5.7-litre Hemi V8, the Hurricane engines take the Ram 1500 – and, frankly, US pick-ups – to a new level of performance.
“Once people experience the power of the Hurricane engine series they will see what the fuss is all about.”

More about the 10.25-inch front seat passenger screen:
The front seat passenger can connect their phone via Bluetooth to access music controls using the 10.25-inch screen rather than their handheld device.
With a USB-C to HMDI cable, the 10.25-inch screen can mirror a smartphone screen and enable the front seat passenger to watch movies and video clips.
In co-pilot mode, the front seat passenger can access the vehicle’s embedded navigation system via the 10.25-inch screen to search for destinations or add stopovers – then, at the press of a button, transfer the route to the main 14.4-inch infotainment screen so the driver can view instructions.
The front seat passenger can access the camera view at anytime on the 10.25-inch display – unless the main 14.4-inch infotainment screen is in camera mode or the vehicle is in reverse.
The 10.25-inch touchscreen is covered with a privacy film so the display cannot be viewed from the driver’s point of view.
