SsangYong has just updated their Musso and Rexton models. The main updates include a larger 12.3-inch central touch screen, more comfort features and new body colours.
Also, they have introduced a new version, the Adventure model which sits in the middle of the range.
With all the hype around Utes and larger SUVs from manufacturers, the SsangYong models can sometimes be overlooked.
That’s a shame as both the Rexton and Musso are pretty good. We have driven both on many occasions and they always impress us.
The Musso has perhaps the best ride on road of any Ute around now. It’s comfortable, practical, and aimed at the more urban based adventurer.
The Rexton is a large seven seat 4WD that rides more like a luxury SUV. It has true 4WD capability.
SsangYong Musso and Rexton provide a viable and value-based alternative to the mainstream brands for buyers that wan the practicality of a Ute or seven seat 4WD without necessarily wanting to delve deep into the harshest regions of Australia.
You get a lot for your money with these vehicles.

SsangYong Musso
SsangYong Australia has released the updated Model Year 2024 Musso 4×4 dual cab Ute range.
Musso’s interior scores a new contemporary dash layout with a high-mounted audio screen and horizontal trim design with integrated air vents. The prominent, centrally mounted Smart Audio is upgraded to a high resolution, 12.3-inch touch screen with improved functionality and clarity. Combined with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, the new interior boasts style, sophistication, and convenience. Connectivity is via two USB-C ports located in the centre console.
Enhancing the premium feel is the climate control hub which is also restyled with a touch screen and push-button combination, the dual-zone climate control in the Luxury Pack has a full touch screen design.
With renowned quietness on the road and levels of interior refinement usually associated with a premium SUV, the latest Musso offers even greater value to the Australian market.
Joining the MY24 line up is a new feature-packed variant called Adventure. The Adventure sits above ELX and offers several premium features usually seen in higher specified models. This now offers customers further choice in their SsangYong purchase journey.
Musso Adventure model
From the Adventure model onwards, the impact of Musso’s imposing front design is further enhanced with stylish four-fold LED fog lights, positioned vertically in the lower bumper edges.
Adding to a long list of convenience features, the Musso tailgate has a soft opening and easy close design. After unlatching, the tailgate will descend at a steady measured rate, while closing requires minimal effort. Overall effort is reduced by around 45 per cent.
Ride comfort has been improved with increased isolation from sharp road inputs. Development of new lower body to chassis mounts with enlarged volume and redesigned profile has resulted in superior bump absorption.
Ultimate and Luxury Pack
Ultimate and Luxury Pack gain touch-sensing front door locks with a walk-up welcome system, the door mirrors unfold, and puddle lamps illuminate as the driver approaches with the keys. Likewise, as the driver moves away from the vehicle, the doors and tailgate will lock automatically.
Inspired by dealer and customer feedback, SsangYong Australia has introduced a new green body colour. The MY24 Musso range is available in six body colours: Grand White, Pearl White, Amazonian Green, Marble Grey, Space Black, and Indian Red.
Interior upholstery is available in premium woven fabric, leather look, or premium leather in the range-topping option.
The powertrain is unchanged for MY24 and continues with its sturdy 2.2L turbo diesel engine and AISIN 6-speed automatic transmission.
With SsangYong’s customary, full suite of standard inclusions, the Musso range continues to offer essential advanced safety features such as:

For MY24, the new lower body mounts are also applied to Rexton to give a more rounded feel from secondary ride inputs.
Rexton has a new Graphite body colour, the MY24 Rexton range is available in six body colours: Grand White, Pearl White, Atlantic Blue, Marble Grey, Graphite, and Space Black.
