Travelhome Macquarie 5th Wheeler is at the premium end of the 5th Wheel market. Compact yet spacious the Travelhome Macquarie 5th Wheeler comes in 25 and 29 foot models
You only have to look at a Travelhome to know that it is in a class all of its own. From its streamlined shape and aerodynamic nose through to its bright and open interior, you can tell that every detail has been carefully thought out, and the original style and comfort has been further refined over the years to complete this unique fifth wheeler.
The popular Macquarie 25 footer now has a big brother in the new larger Macquarie 29. Incorporating all the features that have made the Macquarie 25 an Australian favourite but with even more standard features and options, the Macquarie 29 is just what you would expect from such a well respected RV manufacturer.
You only have to look at a Travelhome to know that it is in a class all of its own. From its streamlined shape and aerodynamic nose through to its bright and open interior, you can tell that every detail has been carefully thought out, and the original style and comfort has been further refined over the years to complete this unique fifth wheeler.
But beauty is only skin deep, and it is Travelhome’s advanced design technology and superior craftsmanship that has allowed them to produce this larger 29 foot unit which, quite amazingly, can be towed by smaller Australian utes such as the Nissan Navara, Holden Colorado, Ford Ranger, Mazda BT-50 as well as the normal tray top vehicles such as Land Cruiser, Patrol and F250. This may all sound too good to be true, but in addition you can still carry up to 890 kg in storage and not exceed it’s 3490 kg GTM. This is the advantage of 5th Wheelers over caravans
This new Travelhome retains all of the tried and proven state of the art lightweight powder coated aluminium interior cupboards/wardrobes/overheads and it’s strong but smooth composite fibreglass shell which dramatically reduces weight when compared to other fifth wheelers. In addition to this the new 29 footer still retains the premium quality and modern interior finish and the lightweight hi-tensile galvanised box section chassis and it’s independent trailing arm suspension.
Travelhomes have always been one of the best looking fifth wheelers, but really it’s only when you step inside that you experience the difference between the 25′ and larger 29′ model. They have gone that extra bit further on the Macquarie 29 to make it even more special.
The extra space created is not wasted either, where the Macquarie 25 had most things you require for travelling on the road, the Macquarie 29 can offer everything you require for full time living, like extra room for all those options like a washing machine, more storage or clothes hanging space to make life on the road more like home.
The have listened to what their customers wanted when designing the new Macquarie 29 and have come up with a range of floorplans including a “north-south” walk-around bed, a bunk bed floorplan for families sleeping up to six, an office layout for those people who want to work whilst on the road, a floorplan with more kitchen bench space, a recliner chair floorplan and they even have a toy hauler floorplan in the development stages for those people who like to take their motorbikes or bicycles or other toys with them on holidays.
What’s even better is that the most popular options from the smaller Macquarie 25 have been made standard inclusions in the larger Macquarie 29, including an internal/external entertainment system, a large two door fridge freezer and the premium quality fabric upgrade. But apart from the good selection of new floorplans one of the obvious benefits of the new Macquarie 29 is the generous amount of extra internal and external storage space it offers.
Just to remind you, Travelhome relies on almost 40 years experience in the vehicle building industry and they design and build all of their fifth wheelers in Australia to suit Australian road conditions and offer a national sales and service network. They also stand behind their product with a 5 year construction warranty for all original owners, which probably explains why many existing 25ft Travelhome owners have already placed orders for the new 29 footer.
Another strong incentive to join the long list of Travelhome owners is the low running costs compared with other types of fifth wheelers. Owners of Nissan Navaras towing Travelhome 25 footers report fuel consumption figures as low as 14 litres per 100kms on long trips of up to 22,000 kms. Recent tests over shorter runs indicate that the extra weight of the 29 footer results in only marginally higher running costs, which is a direct result of Travelhome’s smooth aerodynamic shape and it’s light weight design.
